Samson, the worldwide leader in high performance cordage, is seeking a Production Supervisor, who supervises manufacturing employees, plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. Responsible for practicing a high level of business ethics and professionalism and adhering to safety and quality guidelines in support of Samson strategy and core values.

  • Committed to safety and knowledgeable of OSHA standards and state safety regulations.
  • Detail-oriented and able to balance many tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable about machines and their operating conditions.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Process Improvement.
  • Proficient in computer skills and experienced with Microsoft Office, with ability to learn new programs.
  • Analytical and numbers driven.
  • Creative problem solver who can implement solutions.
  • Able to respectfully handle confidential and sensitive information.

What You'll Do:

  • Engage team members through effective coaching, performance management, and training. Assist team members as needed and oversee resolution of operational issues affecting business objectives.
  • Assign, instruct, train, coordinate, and provide direction to employees to provide a quality product for our customers in a safe and effective manner.
  • Schedule work by order priority and product specifications.
  • Monitor daily production reports, schedules, and documents related to department activities and operations.
  • Monitor the setup of machines in accordance with production needs and check the operating condition of all machines during shift operations.
  • Monitor the quality of product being produced and check production footage and material weights.
  • Ensure equipment is receiving proper preventative maintenance service and care, and notify maintenance of needed adjustments and repairs.
  • Maintain an awareness of production progress and problems on other shifts.
  • Actively participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Process Improvement.
  • Maintain inventory and records of production materials and supplies available.

What You Should Have:


Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Desired: Some college-level courses

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years production manufacturing experience with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or lead role.

Compensation:

Targeted hiring wage: $67,500 - $70,000 annually

Hiring rate will depend on qualifications and experience.


Samson has established wage scales for all of our positions, which are based on a minimum and maximum. The targeted hiring rate above is set to allow for employee's growth within the role. The full range for this position is $65,478 - $85,836 annually.
