Develop and coordinate various activities for MnDOT's new Technical Certification Program. This position analyzes the program, identifies areas where the training needs improvement and implements those changes. Working with the many involved stakeholders is critical to success. This position also is responsible to actively participate in various statewide initiatives and programs to ensure consistency throughout the state.

Additionally, assists the Technical Certification Supervisor and various subject matter experts to develop and continuously update the annual Technical Certification Program. Works with industry and representatives to ensure their needs are met and they are included in the development process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


A Bachelor's degree in Adult Education, Training and Development, Organization Development, Social Sciences, or other closely related field may substitute for 1 year of professional training development experience.

Three (3) years of professional experience that demonstrates :

  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based operating system and programs, with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodology and techniques sufficient to provide expert consultation to supervisors/managers on organizational needs, evaluation of learning effectiveness, and performance improvement solutions.
  • Ability to facilitate and communicate through change management, particularly during difficult or ambiguous situations.
  • Thorough knowledge of office procedures, practices and equipment, computers and various office machines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees, supervisors and managers through human relations and communication skills
  • Training and experience in the use of needs assessment, training methods, adult learning, training evaluation and measurement.
