Finance Associate, Chicago, IL

Ice Miller is seeking an associate with 4 to 6 years of experience in lending transactions, including lender-side representation and/or borrower representation in private equity, senior capital, junior capital, and mezzanine financing transactions.

Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of financing structures, credit agreements, security agreements, and documenting finance transactions. Candidates with additional experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and other general corporate transactions are preferred. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a team oriented mentality, and be a motivated self-starter with strong law school credentials.

• Have experience with lender and borrower side finance transactions in a wide variety of industries
• Have held the lead role on deals and supervised more junior attorneys
• Have excellent law school credentials and references
• Excel in a small office, team environment
• Demonstrate a keen interest in developing and implementing relationship-building skills both internally and externally
• Have prior experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys, staff and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own
• Be highly motivated and a self-starter
• Possess strong business acumen
• Be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Have excellent written and oral communication
