Program Summary:

St. David's Center School Based Mental Health program strives to help elementary aged children and their families to encourage social, emotional, and/or behavioral mental health learning. Some children qualify for CTSS intensive services. We mainly partner with children and families in their school setting, we collaborate with school staff and/or other providers to help foster positive mental health needs; although, some children might need in home support as well.

Position Overview:

• Providing direct mental health treatment (psychotherapy, skills training therapy, psychoeducation) primarily to children (ages 4 to 12)
• Providing family support services such as psychotherapy or psychoeducation
• Providing consultative services and coordinating services with school staff and other providers such as case managers
• Create and SEL curriculum groups for children, provide teacher and/or parent support/consultation in individual or group settings
• Effectively complete documentation required by MN state statutes to demonstrate rehabilitative service needs

Schedule: M-F, 32-40 hours a week, 0-2 monthly participation for evening school events

Job Qualifications:

Education:

• Hold a master's degree in Psychology related field plus 2,000 hours of experience in a mental health field
• Licensed in or pursuing licensure in LMFT, LPCC, and LICSW
• Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record as this position requires travel to and from client's home as well as possible transportation of client to community activities

Experience:

• An understanding of DSM mental health diagnoses and a knowledge of child development, childhood disorders, and an understanding of family systems
• Not required but note some familiarity with trauma, adoption, and/or parenting
• Not required but able to speak another language such as Spanish
