ROLE FUNCTION
Promote financial/business analysis, highlighting business issues, risks, and opportunities that that will effectively and responsively support Heifer’s Mission. Help develop and monitor financial planning and analysis tools to measure Heifer’s financial progress for the organization. This position will drive ensuring consistency of financial data across organizational areas and databases toward an integrated global financial system.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES
A. Financial Reporting (45%)
  • Coordinate financial analysis projects, such as budget variance analysis, capital budgeting and cash management.
  • Accurate and complete reporting on a daily, monthly or yearly basis
  • Generate, compile and maintain financial and statistical data. When requested, data is available to compose requested reports.
B. Vena System Administration (35%)
  • Report writer, trainer, overall management of the system across the Organization
  • Writing HQ and global reports. Collaborate in the development, implementation and training of HQ, global and country- specific budget and forecasting entry.
  • Field and HQ personnel possess knowledge and ability to enter data into accounting systems.
  • Ongoing administration of Vena Solutions.
  • Apply specialized expertise to facilitate organizational financial planning, synchronization of financial plans with periodic budgeting, monitoring and analysis of financial performance, and improved management and regulatory reporting. Includes both routine and special-project analyses and due diligence reviews.
C. Financial Department Projects (20%)
  • Collaborate on financial accounting, reporting, and system process improvement projects from needs identification, to process development, testing, and procedural documentation, continuing through to operational mainstreaming as appropriate.
  • Enterprise-wide uniform chart of accounts, global financial system integration and conversions, and improved functional allocation method.
  • Working with country staff to create reports within Vena Solutions system.

  • When assigned specific tasks, be able to assimilate and analyze information, provide reasonable conclusions and complete assignments with little input from supervisor.
D. May perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field plus 3-5 years of job-related experience with progressive responsibility in finance, accounting, and financial planning, and/or project management. Working proficiency in Spanish is required for this role.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Vena Solutions preferred. Financial planning and analysis experience highly preferred.

  • Skilled with variety of accounting software systems and report-writing tools; willing, able and self-motivated to learn other systems as needed.

Salary Information:
The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $68,000 annually. Placement within the range will be based on the experience and competency level of the candidate.
