Responsibilities

The Technology Project Manager plays a crucial role in leading effective innovation, collaboration, execution, and deployment of the organization's strategic information technology initiatives. They blend project leadership and tactical project management expertise with diverse technical acumen to drive the successful completion of highly complex and cross-functional projects, enabling the realization of the organization’s technology strategy. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Proactively lead and guide cross-functional projects, people, and teams to facilitate the execution of the organization’s technology strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead, manage, and coach project teams and stakeholders to achieve business value, build cohesiveness, and operate in highly performing teams.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams, business teams, and key stakeholders to break down siloes, connect project milestones, enable transparent communication, and facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Create and own thorough project plans to manage scope, schedule, resources, risks, external partners, and budget for the successful delivery of technology solutions.
  • Facilitate the transition and sustainment of executed initiatives, ensuring stakeholder alignment and process ownership after deployment.
  • Foster adaptability in response to changing business and technology needs, making informed decisions and adjustments to keep projects aligned with organizational objectives.


Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years project management, IT, and/or engineering experience.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional, innovative technology projects from discovery through deployment that realize business value.
  • Demonstrated leadership mindset and character displaying the ability to navigate key project team challenges and influence without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated technical and strategic acumen needed to adapt to changing technical challenges, solve ambiguous problems, and lead strategic decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Proven ability building, managing, and empowering cross-functional, geographically diverse teams to achieve cohesiveness, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Skilled at proactively and strategically communicating to inform and collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on project progress, milestones, and potential hurdles.
  • Expert knowledge of tactical project management methodologies and strategies to manage schedule, scope, budget, resources, risks, and external partners.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, system analysis, or a related study preferably from an ABET accredited program.
  • PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
