Apprentice Operator – Active Skill Level 1 JOB DESCRIPTION: The Apprentice Operator -Active (AO-A) shall perform 24/7 operational support to the government by tasks required to search, detect, identify, intercept, and locate signals of interest using the most appropriate sensor and active geolocation technique available. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of operational experience, within the last five (5) years with NSA, a Service Cryptologic Element, or another government intelligence agency (as a government employee or as a contractor) in the following: MINIMALLY ACCEPTABLE: Experience conducting RF collection and/or Direction Finding operations. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certification in active geolocation techniques via training programs conducted by NSA, a service component, or another US Government Agency to include the technologies below is highly desired: a. Global System Mobile (GSM) b. Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) c. CDMA 2000 Evolution - Data Only (EVDO) d. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers standard 802.11 Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) e. Universal Mobile Telecommunications Systems (UMTS) The following certifications are highly desired: a. NSAG Geolocation Qualification Course b. SCE Collection Operator Certification c. USAF Tactical Support Operator (TSO) Certification Successful completion of the initial Active certification program is required upon initial assignment for continued retention (See Statement of Work Appendix D LUCIDLOBSTER Training Policy).
