Overview

  • Performs animal and molecular biology experiments.
  • Prepares grant applications, peer-reviewed publications, and conference presentations.
  • Trains, mentors, and supervises research assistants, students, and junior staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Responsibilities

  • Ph.D. with major training in a relevant field
  • Mouse husbandry and dissection
  • Environmental exposure experiments with mice
  • Molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, Western blots)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a small group setting
  • Ability to interact in a positive and productive manner with a diverse lab community


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in molecular genetics, epigenetics, or environmental health sciences
  • Next-generation sequencing library preparation
  • Bioinformatics analysis in R and Python
  • Biostatistics analysis
  • Highly motivated and responsible
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be self-motivated, to prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
