As a Senior Sourcing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and growth of our company through effective procurement strategies and supplier relationship management. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and prices for goods and services essential to our operations. Your strategic insight and market knowledge will drive our procurement decisions, ultimately contributing to our overall competitiveness and profitability.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with company objectives and budgetary requirements.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, quality standards, and payment terms.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business needs and objectives.
  • Initiate and develop supplier relationships to foster collaboration, address performance issues, and drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation within the supply chain, and implement appropriate strategies and initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting procurement practices, and incorporate relevant insights into decision-making processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier performance data, using appropriate procurement management systems and tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, such as implementing lean principles, process automation, or technology solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize excess or obsolete inventory, and ensure timely availability of materials and supplies to support production and operations.
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain, such as supply disruptions, geopolitical issues, or regulatory changes, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance supplier diversity and promote sustainable procurement practices.

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive favorable outcomes in complex contractual agreements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Effective time management and organization skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and manage priorities.
  • Proficiency in business software and tools (EX: ERP systems), as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%, primarily domestically but may occasionally require international travel.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, and supplier management required.
  • Minimum Five (5) or more years of progressive related experience in a manufacturing, industrial or other relatable industry required.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPM) is a plus.
