The Regional Yard Manager will be responsible for overseeing the regional yard team and ensuring efficient lifecycle management and deployment of McCarthy's equipment, fleet and tooling. The position requires a blend of strategic and tactical thinking, operational expertise and safety. This role will be based out of McCarthy Building Companies office in Chandler, Arizona.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the regional yard team, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional development.
- Work closely with Equipment and Fleet managers to develop regional procurement strategy.
- Assists National Yard director in national equipment, fleet and tooling strategy.
- Provide and ensure a high level of customer service is provided.
- Oversee Equipment team, Fleet team, and Operations teams to deliver a positive customer service experience and maintain profitability.
- Develop, plan, and implement departmental goals and objectives.
- Assess and analyze staff performance through evaluation methods to drive continuous improvement and achieve organizational goals. Maintain accurate records of financial information, conduct quarterly and annual profit projections.
- Prepare, administer, and manage annual operating budget for the regional yard.
- Evaluate capital investment strategy, needs/disposals and develop overall regional equipment fleet strategy.
- Establish and manage contracts with regional vendors to ensure seamless operations. Cooperate with regional yard managers in national equipment strategy.
- Conduct annual equipment rate evaluations and updates in cooperation with the national yard team.
Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience in related field or equivalent technical background.
- Demonstrated leadership proficiency with a minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience. Experience with construction planning
- Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and critical thinking skills required.
- Proven expertise in strategic planning and program development
- General knowledge of construction principles/practices and equipment required.
- Ability to travel throughout the Southwest region as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to excel within a collaborative team environment.
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding expectations through a strong work ethic.
