Position Summary
The Director, Conservation Funding Development, Latin America and the Caribbean leads the implementation of Audubon’s strategy to take advantage of new, existing, and emerging public funding sources to influence and/or implement impactful, high-priority projects across the organization’s priority geographies to protect and restore bird habitat in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

The Director will work with the teams across LAC to identify, develop, and steward innovative public funding investment for Audubon’s conservation work in the regions. Audubon aspires to more than double public funding revenue for Audubon-delivered conservation projects over the next five years as part of its new strategic plan, and this position will help achieve that goal in bringing new public investment to these regions.

The Director should have strong familiarity with the landscape of multilateral and bilateral funders and national development funders that support projects in LAC and proven experience identifying, conceptualizing, and writing successful major US $1M+ public funding proposals in the countries we impact. They should have the ability to frame bird conservation opportunities within the LAC development context (i.e. incorporating multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals).

The Director should be a skilled project manager accustomed to collaborating across different organizational functions, countries, and partners – both internal to Audubon and externally, and have the financial savvy to work with colleagues and partners to build detailed budgets and incorporate match funding requirements.

The position will report to the Senior Vice President for Audubon Americas and will be expected to collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Conservation Funding and Partnership and Audubon’s Development Team.

Compensation:

$130,000 / year
