Position: Quality Technician

On-Site Position: Williamsport, PA

Reports to: Director of Operations


As a Quality Technician at Spartronics you will perform various Quality technical/analytical functions of a simple - to complex nature in support of quality control and quality engineering department, as assigned. You will supervise Quality Control inspection team, as required.


What a Day Looks Like:

Primary or Major Responsibilities:

  • Uses Spartronics policies and procedures to complete work assignments.
  • Support and assist engineers in the performance of simple to complex technical assignments, routine engineering tasks, and prototype subassemblies or assembly evaluation.
  • Perform Final, Safe Launch or Source Inspection, and/or other product quality related analysis tasks.
  • May be responsible for mentoring/supervising inspectors within the quality control department
  • Collect, compile, analyze, develop and report data and information as required.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and records as required

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Process Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs). Initial review to ensure clarity and correctness, recording data, taking photos as necessary, notifying (email) the supplier or internal responsible party.
  • Provide support as requested by suppliers or requests from internal departments relating to DMRs
  • Following up with non-responsive suppliers to obtain disposition
  • Close DMRs and completing the disposition instructions.
  • Regularly Report on the status/activities of the area.
  • Provide support of entire incoming process, contacting suppliers for missing/corrected documentation including certificate of conformances, test data, first article forms
  • Provide support for the entire organization as requested. For example, obtaining documentation related to the incoming process as requested from other departments
  • All other duties as assigned.

Safety: Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.

The experience we're looking for to add to the team:

  • Education- Associates Degree in relevant field or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in CCA QC related field helpful.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • IPC J-Std, IPC 610, IPC7711 and IPC 7721 Certified (Certified Trainer preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and interpret applicable documents and understand verbal direction.
  • Knowledge of Circuit components, processes and systems.
  • Familiar with the following: understanding electronic schematics/drawings, soldering under a microscope, soldering of: micro- miniature SMT components like fine pitch ICs, LGAs, BGAs, other and extended periods of time performing microscopic inspection.
  • ITAR Regulations require all candidates be a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.
